Big Sound From A Little Horn
The Amati ATR 314 Bb Pocket Trumpets offer a full concert hall sound in a compact and affordable package.
The ATR 314 Series Pocket Trumpets feature a .437-inch bore with a fixed 3rd valve finger ring for easy response and intonation adjustment.
Pocket trumpets are a bit of a novelty. Perhaps this one more so than most because it comes in a variety of color finishes! A pocket trumpet's real advantage is being extremely portable.
The 314 Pocket Trumpet also features a 3.74-inch bell for excellent projection from this small instrument.
Manufactured in the Czech Republic to the highest standards of European craftsmanship, Amati instruments are exceptional values that play comparably to much more expensive instruments.
Included with the Amati ATR 314 Bb Pocket Trumpets is a case and mouthpiece.

I Love this horn. I got it a few months ago as a birthday present from my wife. The horn plays best if you don't over blow it - it only has a small bell. When played like this it has a quasi - flugelhorn sound. The horn is fun to play. The valves are superb - very smooth.

This little horn not only has a big sound but is in tune. It has a small bore and small bell and seems to have a specially designed mouthpiece which works better than any other mouthpiece I have, and I have plenty! Over the years I (have) had 2 other pocket trumpets and did not enjoy playing them because of bad valves and they did not play in tune.
Amati is well made and the bell is like a miniature flugelhorn bell so maybe that helps it achieve a big dark sound. I did not want a big bell/large bore pocket trumpet but I would have tried one if I had not been more than satisfied with the sound of the Amati.
The big sound surprised so many other reviewers that I had to try it and I'm glad I did. The Amati mpc says "7C" but I think it must be bigger than a Bach 7C because I play 16.75mm and it is very close to that size. The Amati mpc also bottoms out on my main trumpet so it is different and I've written Amati asking about the 7C but have gotten no response.
